Hello fellow carriers, I have heard that all PTF's (National) are in the works to be maximized, has anyone else heard the same? To define maximized; it is when a City Carrier has met the qualifications to become a Regular Full-Time carrier. I have contacted my Regional NALC Business Agent and he has not heard anything as of 10/14/08. It appears that the information I was given is false, as many of you has said and as I suspected, it doesn't make much sense to promote all PTF's to Regular's when trying to cut cost. Then again, there is a new memo that came out about 2-3 weeks ago that states no route can be inspected without an assigned Regular carrier, unless the shop steward makes the request.
