About Me: My name is John, I've been on the rural side for 27 years. The first 10 as a relief and now 17 as a regular. I'm a 2nd generation postal worker, my dad worked for the postal service, my sister is a clerk in the same office I work in, and her daughter, my niece, is a city carrier in the same office. I'm 48 years old. My family owned 2 restaurants here in my home town, so I was raised in the food industry. At the ageof 13, I started doing cakes, weddings, birthdays, anything. I made cakes for about 30 years. Also taught cake decorating at the local community college for about 10 years. I've quit doing it completely now, but do miss doing it.
Music: I like all types of music. Especially Dido, Elton John, Annie Lennox, Stevie Nicks.
TV: Favorite tv shows are mostly old ones. Bewitched, The Munsters, I love Lucy, but I also like Law and Order, CSI, and Desperate Housewives.
    Likes: Vacation!
Hobbies: Love to travel, like some gardening but not very good at it.

    Pics of cakes

Ok, I posted a few pics of cakes that I have made.  It's been a few years since i've really done much, so they are pics of cakes from a few years ago.   As it says in my profile, I used to do a lot of weddings.   Now I don't do much, but once in a while someone convinces me to do one.  It's still fun, actually it's more fun now than when I did it professionally.

Mark asked me to post some of my work, so I finally found my pictures and here are a few.

    Hope you enjoy them!

Those are ALL excellent cakes, John! You are very talented!! I am sure when your co-workers find about your talent they constantly ask you to make their friend's wedding cakes.
I agree, once in a while is okay - but doing that evryday takes all the fun out of it.

I had a butter pecan wedding cake once (she had three different flavors for the three different tiers) and it was the BEST I've ever had...I guess because it was so unusual. I wish I could find some kind of butter pecan cake mix! lol
