    Blog Title For Sale

    Monday, April 28, 2008, 12:04 PM [General]

I couldn't think of a title, but it will do for now. This is my first blog on here. I don't visit this site often but I like to read your blogs.

My name is Linda and I work as a Sales and Service Associate in Camden, New Jersey. Ar night, I attended Rutgers University in Camden and I am working on my Baccalaureate in Pre-Law. Most of my internet time is taken doing homework and research. My future plans involve becoming a lawyer and quitting the Postal Service - but that is still years down the turnpike.

I have read two different blogs on here about cutbacks and change. I have witnessed at my branch the removal of two window stations and my local is in the negotiating stages of preventing what SSA jobs will be abolished and/or reverted. There are more subtle changes too, like on our "Hold Mail Notices" and on our "Peach Slips" or Form 3849. The newly printed forms have the added language "...to our customers, you may request holds and redeliveries on USPS.com" Increasing functions provided by an SSA are now available on USPS.com such as buying stamps, placing changes of address and purchasing delivery confirmation. Plus, the USPS gives customers a discount for doing this at home.

I haven't had the chance to talk with most of you on the site yet, but as my spring semester winds down I will have more time. The two people on here that I have messaged back and forth are very interesting and I know there are more postal workers on here that are just as interesting. To Julie, my sister in Christ, I haven't heard from you but I admire what you are doing.

Good luck to all of you, we are all in this together!

Thank you for the wonderful e-mail, Linda. In a phrase: yes it was!
The "tour guide" said that you were trying to put extra pressure on him - is that true young lady? LOL!

Good luck on your dreams Linda. Pre-law!! You must be very smart. I am going Tulane University part time after work for a BSW degree. Between school and the post office - there isn't much free time.

Aw, thanks Linda! I don't do as much art as I should anymore though. Shame on me!

My other half grew up in Jersey (Tom's River)...I've been up there a few times, wow is it a different world. The only thing I like to do is go to Atlantic City lol
