I was just reading a news article on AOL where it said that Bush had signed the tax rebate legislation. Underneath the article is the typical AOL message boards with every idiot on the internet posting their innermost thoughts. Many were bashing Bush for making this effort to boost the economy. I say to them: If you don't want the rebate, either send it to me or send it back to the IRS. I'm tired of people b****ing about every little thing that Bush does. These same people will be rushing out the door to spend their extra tax rebate money come May!

IM loving it too..but in some ways i agree with Ron...You wont hear me Bush-bashing. I like him. I may not like everything he does but in general hes not some stuffed shirt politician! if anyone sends you any of theirs and you get to many ..you can send them to me..lol Beth aka. *SS* |

I would generally agree, however, I do have some problems with this "stimulus" package. This is not an attack on Bush, but an attack on the package itself.
RonUnder this package, the IRS will be cutting checks for $600 per person, $1,200 for a family, and $300 per child. Which is fine, except that if you make more than $75,000 as an individual or $150,000 as a family, you don't get a check. So not every American is getting a rebate. Why is it that we give rebates to people who don't pay taxes? And yet the segment of society that pays the most taxes doesn't get a dime, and this is suppose to stimulate the economy?
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for getting more of my money back for me to use, however, I think that if they really wanted to stimulate the economy, either give everyone a rebate check or better yet, cut taxes so there is more money to spend and invest.
