Hey Mark, ever made a wedding cake like this?
These bailout fat cats have some nerve!
You've got to love the banking industry.
As our friends in the
financial sector were passing the hat among taxpayers last week for
$700 billion in bailouts to cover their crappy mortgage investments,
they were simultaneously condemning the House of Representatives'
passage of a "Credit Cardholders' Bill of Rights," which aims to crack
down on some of the industry's more troublesome practices.

My Economic Plan
Ok, I am sure most of us middle class working people are up in arms about the $700 BILLION dollar bail out plan.
Some are mad cause they dont want to bail out people who dont pay their bills, and some are mad cause they dont want to bail out those fat cats that run those companies that are licking their chops waiting for the bail out.
Either way, we can probably agree it sucks..
Congress is not cooperating on getting this passed the way they want it done.
When asked why they couldnt give him less than the full 700 billion now, and then wait and see later if he needs more, Henry (Hank) Paulson the Treasury Secretary flat out said NO... He needed the full 700 billion NOW or our economy will collapse. Oh, and in case anyone wonders who will decide where the money goes, try this on for size:
Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.
Meaning, Paulson will be able to do whatever he wants to with this 700 BILLION and it can not challenged.
Remember that old saying, "Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely"
On top of that, when they wanted to add a provision that says the CEOs of the companies must do without their billion dollar bonuses, they say the the companies would probably not agree to that.. WHAT?? If they are in such dire straits, then letting their billion dollar bonus go should be no problem. They do want to help save the company... Dont they?
And, if they are going to get bailed out by US, shouldnt we be able to decide how much the CEO's make??
And, these same companies are already lobbying Congress to get the jobs managing all of this debt after we bail them out.
So, in light of the ridiculous events going on in our country, I have figured out a way to solve the problem, while giving the American tax payers some help also.
How about they give every tax paying American $150,000.00 or even more tax free. We in turn pay all of our bills off. Pay off those mortgages, car loans, credit cards, etc.
This in turn will send money to those companies that claim to be on the verge of bankruptcy.
Lets call it the working class trickle UP economy. It is a Win Win for all.
If a bail out is inevitable, then lets bail out everyone while probably spending less than 700 BILLION!!
It could work.. Dont ya think?
