George started the interactive blog idea.... so I'm going to copy from him
and ask what is your favorite shoe to wear around during the summer?
Flip-flops, sandals, Birkenstocks, athletic shoes...........there are
many choices. Normally I would have listed flip-flops;however,I find
myself digging in my closet for last years crocs. That's right! I wear the ugly shoe. I own a navy blue pair and I'm proud of it.
Believe me, I resisted buying these things for a long time. I didn't
care how comfortable others said they were. I thought they look like
plastic Dutch clogs. Very uncool, but I noticed a phenomenon. Usually
the "fashion minded people" purchase the latest styles for
vanity sake, but it wasn't the "fashion minded" purchasing these
shoes. I noticed the gardening freaks wearing the bright green crocs, the boater's wearing the navy crocs , and the team moms wearing the pink crocs......... so I thought......there must be something to the shoe. These people aren't wearing these shoes to make a fashion statement, so they must be wearing them because of
the comfort factor. Justification for purchase! I know my deductive
reasoning skills aren't very scientific, but HEY, it made sense to me.
I own two navy blue pairs and all I can say is "I LOVE my Crocs".
They are convenient, comfy, and ideal for those of us that like to
hang around the water. They may look nerdy, but I challenge you to
slip on a pair and find out for yourself what true comfort really is.
Crocs really aren't a crock.

You mention "Crocs" and the co-founder of those shoes, Duke Hanson, comes from my current hometown of Littleton, CO. The other co-founder lived east of Boulder, CO. (in Niwot) and inherited a nice plot of land to build a factory. Crocs are Colrado made!
MarkAlthough, I should go with the hometown favorite, I still love the Arcopedico shoes, made in the USA, that can be bought at the local Wal-Mart. Best hiking shoe for this nerd! :)
