A postal employee in Little Rock, Arkansas reports that a station manager has developed an alternative program to DOIS, and is using that program instead of DOIS to manage letter carrier times. The employee states the program cuts carrier times even shorter than DOIS. According to the employee, the program has gained the notice of the Southwest Area, who are singing the station manager's praises.

I overheard a telecom in which it was being discussed. It uses like 85% of standard as the standard and 90% of base as the base. So if you case 8/18 it is not enough for this program. And if you do your route on the street in a consistant manner, then you are moving too slow. I think it is a crook. It will take me what it takes me on the street, and I will case at the same speed in the office that I have always done.
PalanManagement needs to see reality. I heard of a route that they split a street up, the even side is on one route, the odd side is on another route, and this street is suppose to be a park and loop. Stupid things like these is what is hurting the post office.
